iOS 6.1 gains 22% adoption in under 2 days

Apple’s recent update to iOS 6.1 may be important more for what it says about users and the never-ending competition with Android than what new features were added to the software running iPhones, iPods and and iPads. It's time to ditch your old HDMI cables

I don’t like tossing away things while they’re still usable, but there comes a point when enough is enough. It might not seem like it, but HDMI has come quite a way in the past several years, and there’s a chance that you’re not getting the most out of your streaming box or video game console if you’re still using the same decade-old cable. HDMI 2.0 came out back in 2013, and admittedly, I still use quite a few 2....

Japan’s FTC is probing Apple over the way it sells iPhones in the country

Apple is under investigation for iPhone supply deals in Japan. Reutersreported today that Japan’s Fair Trade Commission (FTC) is investigating the Cupertino firm over the way that it sells iPhones in the country, alleging that Apple abused its dominant market position as detailed in Japan’s Antimonopoly Act. The country’s watchdog suspects that Apple may have exercised pressure on local suppliers in order to force them to sign deals that aren’t really favorable to them because the agreements require them to provide free technology and expertise to Apple’s affiliates....

Jumbo-sized ‘iPhad’ would be huge in China, but…

The ‘just right’ thinking needs to be applied to calls for a larger-screen iPhone, according to one analyst. While an iPhone with a larger screen is needed to increase demand in China, anything larger than a five-inch display risks creating an ‘iPhad’ that’s part iPhone and part iPad…...

You can get cheaper versions of the new model, but we’ve been driving the poshest of the pack, the Nissan X-Trail Tekna+ e-Power e-4ORCE. If you’ve got the £48k to part with, then this is undoubtedly the model to go for. Planet of Lana Looks to Be Worth a Visit

So far, Thunderful have set up an impressive slate of upcoming games, as shown via our previews this past year of games such asThe Last Hero of Nostalgia,Wavetale,Togges,WorldlessandSwordship. The publisher has made it clear, however, that Planet of Lana, from developers Wishfully, is primed to be the big one for them right now. An atmospheric 2D puzzle-platformer about a young girl and their alien friend navigating a distant planet. Truth be told, it wasn’t my personal pick for their best game that’s been showcased (that would go to either Swordship or Wavetale), and so far, it hasn’t exactly brought that much new to the table when it comes to the genre, but what it is there is still excellent stuff that should hopefully make for one impressive adventure in the end....
