After completing the introduction ofAssassin’s Creed Mirage, players will be let loose in the city of Baghdad. This city is the setting for the rest of the game, and while it’s not as big as cities in previous games, there is still a lot to do.

Basim will be told to meet the other Hidden Ones at the Bureau, their hideout within the city, but this is also when the game fully opens up for free roaming. Despite its smaller scale, Assassin’s Creed Mirage still offers an open world where players can choose what they do next.
9Find a Blacksmith & Tailor
Your weapons and outfits can be upgraded by Blacksmiths and Tailors, respectively. There are many of each scattered around the city, and you’ll quickly find crafting materials that can be used to upgrade your gear. Finding a Blacksmith and Tailor will mark their location on the map and give you somewhere to return to later after you’ve obtained more crafting materials.
Upgrading your weapons will increase their general damage and help make random fights with the city guard much easier. Upgrades to your outfit will also unlock additional perks that can be used in all sorts of situations and should be upgraded whenever you get the chance.

8Complete More Of The Main Story
Completing the first mission in Baghdad will unlock the Hidden One’s Bureau, which serves as their hideout within the city. Unlocking this location will have you unlock the Contracts Board and the person who can help you upgrade your tools.
Completing the main story is also the easiest and most effective way of earning more skill points, which can be used to make Basim much more powerful. Completing additional main missions will also have you unlocking additional tools beyond just your throwing knives.

Find Chests
Rare chests can be found all around the city and will be highlighted gold while in Eagle Vision. These chests can be full of crafting materials, money, and Favor Tokens, which will greatly come in handy throughout the city.
Some rare chests will also have new gear within, oftentimes being stronger than what you’re currently using in base stats. Fully upgraded weapons can be expensive, and some weapons come with higher baseline stats than others, making it sometimes the better option to just find a new sword.

7Lower you Notoriety
Notoriety can go up for all sorts of reasons while exploring the open world and can even affect your gameplay while trying to complete main missions. After gaining a few Notoriety levels, players will have a few ways to get rid of it.
Wanted posters will spawn randomly throughout the city and can be removed tolower your Notorietyby one rank. Always be on the lookout for when wanted posters spawn, as they are an easy way to keep your Notoriety down. Munadi can also be bribed using Favor Tokens to lower you Notoriety, but posters will always be the easier and cheaper method.

6Upgrade Your Tools
After completing the first main mission in the city, players will unlock the Bureau, which is also the location of the NPC who will upgrade your tools. While these tier upgrades can be expensive, they can make something as simple as a throwing knife into a deadly weapon.

Upgrading your tools is a great investment, as they can easily be found or bought around the city and will continue to be used throughout the entire game. Invest in these tools early to give yourself more effective options to use in any combat scenario.
5Collect Tokens
Favor Tokens are another aspect of the game that can be used both in the open world while running around or during main missions. There are three different types of Favor Tokens, and each one can be used in different ways.
Collecting Favor Tokens early will help make sure you’re never without one in a story mission when you suddenly need to hire some mercenaries. Merchant tokens are also very useful in that they can lower the prices at a shop and help you stock up on other items.

4Use Your Eagle
Your eagle is always following you around, just way up in the sky. Switching to the eagle to scout around can help map out new areas and target important places you want to stop and check out.
Using the eagle helps blend the map into the actual world of the game, letting players see icons and what they are actually related to. The eagle also comes in handy when scouting out a heavily guarded area, as no guards seem to pay it any mind.
3Complete Contracts
After unlocking the Bureau, the Contracts board will become available for players to accept and complete contracts. These are Mirage’s form of side quests, offering a range of rewards from money, upgrade materials, skill points, favor tokens, and even new gear.
While none of these are required to proceed through the game, they are all very useful in making Basim stronger and preparing you for what’s next. Favor Tokens can be used to make some of the more difficult main missions much easier, so stocking up on them earlier is always beneficial.
2Pickpocketing
Pickpocketing in Mirage has been changed to be a bit more complicated than in the earlier Assassin’s Creed games. Now, being a brief quick time event, the rewards for pickpocketing make it well worthwhile to do while walking the streets of the city.
Getting caught trying to pickpocket will raise your notoriety, but as long as you get the timing right, you’ll quickly gain a large sum of money and Favor Tokens. A lot of what’s stolen is also valuable trinkets that can be taken and sold at a trader for more money.
1Synchronization Point
Scattered around the city are many high towers that can be climbed up to synchronize an area. This will have Basim take in the surrounding area and mark on the map all sorts of things that he sees. This system will reveal a small area of the map for the player without needing to walk around and locate everything yourself or with your bird.
Synchronization points also act as fast travel spots that can be used to quickly get around the city. Unlocking as many of these points as possible will help players get around the city as it expands and main missions take placefurther from the Bureau.
