Avowed is the next big RPG from Obsidian that’s coming to multiple platforms and the Xbox Game Pass service for PC and consoles. Avowed is also the first title from the publisher that supports cross-buy functionality.
This is different from Play Anywhere, as that doesn’t take other stores and clients into account. Here is everything you need to know about the cross-buy feature for Avowed, and what clients and platforms it supports.
Avowed Cross-Buy Feature Explained
Players who purchase Avowed on either Xbox or Battle.net will be able to play the game on either client or platform for their singular purchase. Here is a breakdown of what this means:
Overall, this is an excellent addition to the already useful “Play Anywhere” feature that we’ve seen for multiple titles on Xbox storefronts.
Avowed Release Date
Avowed is coming to PC through Steam, Microsoft Store, and Xbox Series S|X onFebruary 18, 2024.
How to Play Avowed Early
If you pre-order the Premium Edition for Avowed, you may start playing five days early starting fromFebruary 13, 2025. This is the same across all platforms and clients, whether you’re buying Avowed on PC or consoles. Early access incentives seem to be a common trend with several Xbox releases including Starfield, as well asIndiana Jones and the Great Circle.
We hope that this is the plan for future releases as well, as I personally prefer using the Battle.net client over the Xbox App.

When he isn’t spending an unhealthy amount of time in Slay the Spire, he’s probably trying out yet another retro-shooter or playing Dark Souls for the 50th time.
