Clint Capela’s Gym Upgrades

If you are looking to play Clint Capela as your main center player, you’ll want to focus on maxing out his level to 50 using those drill cards. Leveling boosts all the important stats, so head to the gym and train Capela first.

Enhancing Capela isn’t a priority since not all players have access to Capela Enhance Cards. You get those cards from pulling Clint Capela repeatedly, so you’ll have to grind it out toimprove your players.

However, these enhancements are minor but impactful when you are looking at all the minute differences between you and the opposing center.

For example, look at the Paint Dominion enhance trait of Capela. It increases Capela’s Rebound Competitiveness by 1 and Block Success Rate by 0.5% after every 0.25 seconds while staying under the rim (within 3m).

The Paint Dominion’s max value is 99, which means you get+99 for Rebound Competitiveness and 50% Block Success Rate when staying under the rim.

Those tiny details matter at the end of the day, especially when you are against another Clint Capela.

You can also increase your stats when having a partner. As for Capela, his partners are Richaun Holmes, who increases his Block attribute, Nikola Vucevic, who increases his Rebound attribute, and Julius Randle, who increases his Dunk attribute. This is not mandatory in the early game. Once you have the gold and the support cards, you can do so and get Capela’s partners.

Clint Capela’s Talent Upgrades

You want to focus on upgrading your talents because they enhance your skill’s attributes and sometimes change them completely.

Capela has7 talent categoriesthat you will need to upgrade as you level up.

The 7 talent categories are: Snatch Block, Inspiration, Standing Dunk, Leaning Screen, Tip-in, Capela Rebound, and Capela Block.

Capela Rebound and Capela Block

The first thing you need to max out here is the Capela Rebound and Capela Block, since we will be focusing on supporting our teammates instead of getting the spotlight and scoring titles.

The Capela Rebound talent category increasesRebound Range andDefensive Rebound Competitiveness(increasing your chances of getting defensive rebounds)andreduces the chance of the pass being interceptedafter a rebound.

These stats are a great way to increase your chances of controlling the rebound, because the one who controls the rebound controls the game.

The Capela Blockincreases the rate of successfully blocking your opponent, the range (how far you are from the opponent) of your block, andthe angle of the blockconcerning the position of your opponent, so that means you don’t need to be in front of your opponent to be able to block them.

This category also has a skill, theFull Angle Block, that lets you block from behind while staying under the rim. Thisis a good boost when you are protecting the rim from the inside.

Snatch Block

The next talent category you want to max out is the Snatch Block. This talent will improve yourContest Impact (which affects the opponent’s accuracy),Block Range, andrestore Moraleafter a failed attempt of doing Snatch Block.

The Capela Snatch increases your range of blocking the opponent and getting the ball at the same time.

The Chase Snatch lets you block your opponent from behind against layups and dunks.

This will help you boost your blocking ability, bringing in more rim protection in the paint.

Inspiration

This is the next talent category that is one of the most important, because it will boost you and your teammates’Moralewhen blocking and rebounding.

Moraleis the gauge you see above your normal skills in the screen’s upper-right corner. You always want to gain Morale so you can use your “Ultimate skill”.

As for Capela, his ‘ultimate skill’ is Snatch Block. This lets you block your opponent and get possession at the same time! It is extremely powerful because it boosts your block ability while preventing a loose ball, which will typically result in the opponents taking it back. If you snatch the possession, it is almost like using a Uno reverse card.

The One-Handed Jumper and the One-Handed Shot skills in these categories are optional. These won’t increase your chances of rebounding, blocking, or helping your teammate, so it is up to you when you’ll upgrade them.

I suggest getting it later on in the game when you have excessStar Talent Cards.

Leaning Screen

The next helpful talent for your teammates is theLeaning Screen. This talent increases your Strength and the Leaning Distance when screening for a teammate. Screening is a helpful skill that can give your teammate an open space and uncontested shots, either in the paint or beyond the arc.

You can get this talent once you have maxed out the talents mentioned above.

You can also get the skill Screen N’ Dash that will let you dash to the rim once you perform a screen on your teammate.

Clint Capela’s Potential Stats

Upgrading potential is mandatory because these are essentially free stats or attributes. You have several upgrades to choose from, but Clint Capela only wants a few specific stats.

The potentials you want to equip and upgrade are Airborne Ace (Dunk, Reb, Vertical), Anchor (Reb, Consistency), and Lockdown D (Reb, Contest).

These stats are self-explanatory at this point. Get those rebounds and own that paint!
