10Samantha Wheeler

Samantha Wheeleris the legal equivalent of a tornado – she blows into the lives of the Specter Litt team and disrupts their delicate balance of power, forcing them to accept her as she is. Fierce and unpredictable, she’s played by Katherine Heigl and is known for her aggressive and ruthless personality. It goes without saying, Samantha also holds a steadfast loyalty towards Robert Zane from their time working together at Rand, Kaldor, & Zane.

Samantha’s backstory is shaped by a tough upbringing in the foster system and military service, which explains her tough exterior. Unlike Harvey, who operates with charm, Samantha bulldozes her way through obstacles, often making enemies in the process. Her tendency to operate in the shadows and manipulate situations for her benefit puts her at odds with the firm’s established players, but she’s remarkable nonetheless.

9Alex Williams

Alex Williamsenters the world ofSuitsas a seasoned corporate attorney with a sharp mind and a history that’s closely connected with Harvey Specter’s past. Played by Dulé Hill, Alex is introduced as a name partner at Litt Wheeler Williams Bennett, but the way he gets there is what’s interesting.

He initially worked at Bratton Gould and, while playing poker with Harvey, Alex proposed the idea of becoming junior partners. But later, Harvey breaks his word and decides to stay, promising Alex a favor in the future. Moreover, Alex was also entangled in a prison labor scandal, which made it difficult for him to stay at Bratton Gould any longer, so he joined Harvey instead. Hill’s character is defined by loyalty, sometimes to a fault, but he’s no stranger to navigating firm politics and juggling personal obligations.

8Katrina Bennett

Katrina Bennett, portrayed by Amanda Schull, is one ofSuits’most intriguing characters, who evolves from an ambitious and straightforward Assistant District Attorney to a name partner in Litt Wheeler Williams Bennett. Initially introduced in Season 2 as Harvey’s mysterious new hire, she quickly establishes herself as a sharp and confident lawyer who relies on facts rather than strategy and schemes to get things done.

Katrina’s loyalty to Louis dates back to her early days at Pearson Hardman, but her drive for success led her to make questionable decisions – such as helping Louis poach clients when he left the firm. The reason she finds a spot so far off on the list is because her likability is a mixed bag. Her dedication and growth make her an admirable character, but her initial arrogance andwillingness to bend the rulesmake her difficult to warm up to.

7Robert Zane

Played by Wendell Pierce,Robert Zaneis a powerhouse attorney with a reputation that precedes him. As the managing partner of Rand, Kaldor & Zane, he’s one of the most accomplished people in the corporate legal world, and all his success is a product of hard work. His character is ambitious, intelligent, and holds a deep-rooted sense of justice. He’s also fiercely protective of his daughter, Rachel Zane, and often finds himself at odds with her because of her career choices and her relationship with Mike Ross.

Robert was introduced asa noble leader and problem-solver, and over the course of the series, he even redeemed himself by taking the fall for Harvey in Season 8’s finale. A defining moment for the show, it led to his disbarment. He was also a mentor to Samantha Wheeler after Rachel left the show in Season 7, and his eventual rise to partner makes him a compelling character.

All 9 Seasons of Suits, Ranked

As we go back and review every season of TV’s most stylish and twisted legal show, brace for mixed emotions and some nostalgia.

6Rachel Zane

Gorgeous, intelligent, and driven,Rachel Zaneis easily one of the most beloved characters inSuits. As the daughter of Robert Zane, she constantly finds herself under the weight of expectations, but once she sets her mind on making a name for herself, she evolves from a determined paralegal to a confident attorney.

Rachel’s relationship with Mike Ross is central to her seven-season arc, and it also showcases her ability to juggle ambition with emotional depth. Unlike many of the firm’s cutthroat lawyers, Rachel refuses to take the easy route and operates strictly with integrity and moral code. Which is why it’s sad to see her being accused of cheating on her LSATs. Her kindness, wits, and unwavering support for Mike make her a fan-favorite. Of course, she has her moments of frustration, but overall, Rachel is a grounded person.

5Louis Litt

In theSuitsuniverse,Louis Littis the legal version of a Shakespearean tragedy. Complex and multi-layered, he is initially introduced as the firm’s insecure and often antagonistic senior partner. For a show so stylish, almost every character ofSuitshas an air of confidence about them, but not Louis. He is a man driven by his desperate need for validation, respect, and friendship. Because of this nature, Louis lashes out at those around him.

That said, his expertise in financial law is unmatched. And so is his dedication to Pearson Hardman (later Pearson Specter Litt). Over the course of the series, Louis gets past his rivalry with Harvey and his attempts to prove his worth and transforms from a vindictive, petty lawyer to a respected managing partner and a loving husband and father. This redemption arc is satisfying, and that’s what places him so high on the list.

4Jessica Pearson

In the corporate world,Jessica Pearson, portrayed by Gina Torres, is defined by her power and grace. As the managing partner of Pearson Hardman (and later Pearson Specter Litt), she is a force to be reckoned with. She’s calm, calculated, and always ten steps ahead of the game. After all, she built the firm ground up by orchestrating a coup against Gordon Schmidt Van Dyke with Daniel Hardman as her support.

Jessica is also a mentor to Harvey; she’s the one who shapes him into the lawyer he becomes. Her ability to deal with film politics, take down allies-turned-adversaries like Daniel Hardman, and maintain control over a firm filled with inflated egos is nothing short of impressive. And while she is often ruthless, Jessica’s moral compass is stronger than many. Her decision to take Mike under her wing despite his fraudulent background also highlights that she’s willing to see beyond the rules when needed.

3Mike Ross

Portrayed by Patrick J. Adams,Mike Rossis the heart ofSuits. A brilliant, morally-driven underdog who defies the odds when thrust into the high-stakes world of corporate law, his journey is one of constant struggle. Despite never attending law school, Mike is hired by Harvey Specter because of his photographic memory and an innate ability to think on his feet. He undergoes growth, faces challenges and personal dilemmas, and eventually becomes a junior partner at Pearson Specter Litt.

What makes Mike such a memorable character is his charm, intelligence, and a desire to help others. When it comes to clashing with Louis Litt, he’s a tad bit arrogant, but it’s all balanced by his genuine kindness. Mike’s relationship with Rachel and how he looks up to Harvey is the highlight ofSuits. But the way he takes the fall for lying about his background, serves time, and returns to the progression with a renewed sense of purpose makes him easy to root for.

TV Shows That Are Considered to Be Perfect

In the eyes of many dedicated viewers, these shows are absolutely flawless.

2Donna Paulsen

Mike is a strong contender to be the second-best character inSuits, but Donna steals the spotlight as the woman who knows everything before anyone else does. If you know, you know.Donna Paulson, played by Sarah Rafferty, is sharp-witted, fiercely loyal, and effortlessly attractive. She’s more than just Harvey’s executive assistant – she is his confidante, his moral compass, and eventually, his partner in life.

Donna has this distinct ability to read people, anticipate problems, and work her way around office politics, which makes her indispensable. She rightfully earns the title of Chief Operating Officer at Specter Litt Wheeler Williams. But Donna’s likeability isn’t just rooted in her professionalism. It is her emotional intelligence that keeps Harvey’s feet on the ground and reminds everyone that power means nothing without integrity. Besides standing through thick and thin with Harvey, Donna also played a huge part in helping Louis get over his insecurities.

1Harvey Specter

At the top of theSuits’characters ranking is the one and onlyHarvey Specter. Brought to life by Gabriel Macht, he is the show’s protagonist, a legal titan and the best closer in New York, whose smooth-taking swagger and relentless determination have made him appealing since the series’ debut. Beneath the tailored suits, a firm belief in his own abilities, and sharp comebacks, however, is a man shaped by abandonment issues, trust issues, and fear of showing vulnerability.

Harvey’s relationship with Mike is a defining one in the series and it’s responsible for transforming him from a lone wolf into someone who values friendship above all else. His dynamic with Jessica, his rivalry with Louis, and his slow-burning, long-teased romance with Donna, all contribute to his growth arc. He’s instantly memorable. Even though he pushes people away, he shows some willingness to open up and whenHarvey finally decides to leave the firmand start a new life with Donna, it seems like the perfect ending for a man who spent years being synonymous with his career.
