Final Fantasy 16is a visually impressive game, with massive Eikon battles that can really push the limits of what the PlayStation 5 can do. Even in regular combat, Eikon abilities are flashy, with lots of particle effects to display the magic and power, but also an issue of having it all on screen.

Motion Blur is the game’s attempt to run with the best visuals while also trying to make the game feel smooth, blurring frames instead of having the cut. This can often be disorienting or have players miss crucial moments in combat, and here’s how to fix it.
Updated by Shane Black on July 25th, 2023:This guide was updated to provide more details on how you can turn off Motion Blur now that the game has received its Patch 1.03 update, which gives the players the option to control the amount of Motion Blur they can have. It also added some more links to relevant guides and articles.

How To Fix Motion Blur
In many games, Motion Blur will be its own option in the visual settings of the game. Final Fantasy 16 seems to have more limited options, as the game runs and looks mostly good on the PlayStation 5. For those looking to maximize their frame rates as much as possible and get rid of the motion blur,go to the graphics setting in the menu, and change Game Performance to Frame Rate.
Even when focusing on frame rates, the game will still look amazing, andcombat will flow much more smoothly.WithClive’s fast-paced fighting style, every second counts, and even a bit of motion blur can leave you getting hit at the worst possible time. In simple battles or while you explore, this won’t be as much of an issue, butlarger Eikon battles have a ton going on all at once that can hurt your frame rate.

But beyond the choice betweenFrame Rate and Graphics, you cancompletely change the amount of Motion Bluryou are using thanks to the game’s Patch 1.03, which added the feature to the game’s menu. In order to choose how much Motion Blur the game uses - if any - then follow these steps:
You are able to assign a number to Motion Blur with5 being the highest, and 0 being the lowest. The numbers in between, as you can guess, will slightly increase or decrease the amount, so you can play with it and find the value that works best for you. While many people will be choosing to turn the Motion Blur off, there will probably be some players who are wanting to keep the stylistic feeling of Motion Blur, just to a lesser degree.
