Following a very cuteviral videofrom earlier in the week, which shows the effects of the deadly Flare Virus, 20th Century Fox has launched both an extended TV spot and a clip fromThe Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials.Dylan O’Brien’s Thomas has found himself trapped inside a facility designed to keep him safe from the ruined outside world. But as we see in this extended teaser, he and his friends are forced out into the desert wasteland otherwise known as The Scorch. There, he discovers what happened to San Francisco, and it’s not pretty.
The first clip shows Thomas being questions about WCKD, as their leader Janson tries to figure out which side the young teen is on. In last year’sThe Maze Runner, Thomas (Dylan O’Brien) and his group of survivors managed to escape the perilous maze, only to find the planet in ruins. Now he must deal with the last remaining survivors, who are attempting to resurrect the human race in ways that are not entirely conducive to the rational mind.
In this next chapter of the epicMaze Runnersaga, Thomas (Dylan O’Brien) and his fellow Gladers face their greatest challenge yet: searching for clues about the mysterious and powerful organization known as WCKD. Their journey takes them to the Scorch, a desolate landscape filled with unimaginable obstacles. Teaming up with resistance fighters, the Gladers take on WCKD’s vastly superior forces and uncover its shocking plans for them all.
Phase Two has just begun. The Scorch. There are no rules. There is no help. You either make it or you die.
