Greedfall 2 Early Access & Roadmap News: It Will Be Released First On Steam
Greedfall 2 is a sequel and, given the 2 million player success of the first game, it is poised to be one of Nacon’s major releases in the coming months/years. Unlike its predecessor, this sequel puts us in the shoes of a native who lives near the island of Teer Fradee. We are enslaved and taken to the location of the original game, from our remote native village. Sounds interesting, right? Well, that’s the narrative premise ofGreedFall 2, a game that will launch this summer in early access, but only for PC via Steam.
The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|Sversions will arrive sometime in 2025, once the early access version on Steam is sufficiently polished. Becoming a Sage As we see in the trailer,GreedFall 2is set around a native who lives in a village near the island of Teer Fradee. This magical setting is populated with mythical creatures and numerous dangers. Unfortunately, developed civilizations have been ravaging this Eden for years, so the high priestess of Teer Fradee (named Mev) will task us with a dangerous mission.
Early Access Roadmap
The Early Access Roadmap was preceeded by the trailer called “Doneigada”. If you’re wondering what"Doneigada" means, don’t worry, it’s normal, as it is a term tied to the lore that Spiders, creators of the firstGreedfalland the soulslike Steelrising, have created for this sequel.
“Doneigada,“is a word in Yecht Fradí (the native language of Teer Fradee) that means “To become a Sage”. Sages are the warriors tasked with protecting the island’s natural environments from external threats. This means thatGreedFall 2will make us protectors of Teer Fradee, although not necessarily through violence. As a good narrativeRPG, Spiders' title allows us to make the decisions we deem appropriate.
The game features a much more refined combat system than its predecessor, but also other RPG mechanics. We will have various talents, such as stealth, survival, or diplomacy, and we can develop them as we wish. Dialogues will be a key factor inGreedFall 2, as will the actions we take, as they will have consequences on the plot.
These are just some of the mechanics thatGreedFall 2will have, a sequel that promises to be much more ambitious than the original 2019 title.GreedFall II: The Dying Worldis in development bySpiders, under the supervision and publishing ofNacon. Its PC version (in early access) will launch this summer onSteam, while the PS5 andXbox Series X|Sversions will debut in 2025.
