Kofuns are sprawling tombs in Assassin’s Creed Shadows that offer great treasures to players who explore them, but one has a blocked entrance that can be hard to get past. Here is how to enter the Makino Kurumazuka Kofun in AC Shadows.
Makino Kurumazuka Kofun Location in AC Shadows
The Makino Kurumazuka Kofun is located in theYawata Plains region of Izumi Settsu, the first area where players start the game. It is just north of the player’s hideout and near the Bamboo Cutters Watchtower fast travel point.
How to Enter Makino Kurumazuka Kofun in AC Shadows
The entrance to the Makino Kurumazuka Kofun is blocked by a pile of rubble that you cannot squeeze past. The solution is toswitch to Yasuke, once you reach far enough in the story ofAssassin’s Creed Shadowsso that you can change characters at will.
Yasuke can pick up thered explosive vases around the Kofun, place them on the rubble blocking the entrance, and trigger the red vases with a bow or sword slash. The latter method will cause damage, so be mindful of that.
How to Complete Makino Kurumazuka Kofun in AC Shadows
Once opened, stay with Yasuke as you’ll need to pick up more red explosive vases. Enter the Kofun and the first room will have a chest to loot. On the right side of the room you’ll see a pathblocked by a wooden block that can be moved out of the way. A second wooden block needs to be moved in the path and there will be a room with two red jars and a pile of rubble.
Blow up the rubble with one jar, then take the other into the next room and use it to blow up the rubble at the top of the stairs. Follow the new path fora second chest to loot. Turn around and go down the descending path.
Jump in the water and swim to the ledge for the next area. Follow the path until coming upon a room with three wooden boxes.Destroy the boxes with your melee weaponto uncover another red jar. Pick up the jar and bring it further down the path to throw it across the gap at the rubble on the platform.
Blow up the rubble and go down the path to find a dead-end where you can refill ammo. Go back to find a hole to crawl through and a room with a tightrope. It cannot support Yasuke, so drop down and pull the wooden block out toloot a third chestbehind it. Move the wooden block to the wall underneath the entrance to climb up to the next area.
The next room has a small block puzzle where you pull the blocks out from the alcove andmove one block to the left where the ramp is and the other to the right of the raised platform. Go through the new path where the blocks were, move another two blocks out of the way, and take the red jar.
Walk up the block path you created with the red jar, throw the red jar at the rubble, and shoot it to destroy the rubble. The final room of the Makino Kurumazuka Kofun has a legendary chest containingBlush of the Earth Legendary Bow, Extend Clear Mind Engraving, one Knowledge Point, and 2000 XP. There are blocks on the side that will lead to the exit or fast-travel to quickly exit the tomb.
