To get to the point where you can talk to Sigurd and get Mystic Spearhand, you need tospend time in Vernworthcompleting quests likeThe Caged Magistrateand then revisit Melve.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Melve Dragon Attack

Melve is the first town you visit and you find out that it’s prone to dragon attacks. After you’ve decided togo with the oxcart or walk to Vernworthand have spent time in the Capital, you cantake an oxcart back to Melve. Upon your arrival, you’ll be thrown into a dragon fight in which the entire town is helping out — including Sigurd the Mystic Spearhand.

Once the dragon flees, you canfind Sigurd near the edge of town, looking off toward the distance in the direction of where the dragon fled. All you need to do is talk to him to unlock Mystic Spearhand.

Now, rememberhow to change Vocationsto equip Mystic Spearhand. Since this is Melve, you cango to Tristan’s Inn and talk to Tristanto change Vocations. When you do, you’ll automatically be outfitted with a base set of Mystic Spearhand gear which includes armor and the weapon.

Sigurd is one of the only Mystic Spearhand users in the game which is why he’s able to give you the Vocation. He isn’t theVocation Maister, but if you miss him in Melve, you may find his permanent residence inthe house on the hill to the east in Harve Village.
