Ever since you arrived on the continent to fight back against The Paintress inClair Obscur: Expedition 33, you’ve been met with overwhelming odds. Nevrons are far more powerful than you once thought, and they have slaughtered almost your entire team in the process. Surprisingly, some of them aren’t evil, as they are just living their life, trying to make the most of it. That’s the exact case for Jar, who simply wants to obtain the light he felt from The Paintress when she painted him.

Should You Aid The Nevron Jar?

As part of the main story, you will be introduced to the first Nevron that doesn’t immediately attack you. This Nevron is one of a handful of side quest givers in the world that you have the option to participate in their side quests. After you’re done with the quest itself, you will be rewarded with some sort of treat for aiding them, but you are also able to attack them if you feel your actions have only caused more concern.

Ultimately, it’s up to you whether you want to kill them, as you’ll likely be slaying hundreds, if not thousands, of Nevrons on your journey to The Paintress, but know that there is a reward for not immediately attacking a certain number of these beings. With that said, there are some idle and friendly Nevrons that would benefit from you taking them down, such as the Chroma devouringBenisseur, which will reward you with more than double what you invested.

Where to Find Jar’s “Light”

Light is a very vague term for you to bring to the strangely named Jar. While he wants to feel the light of The Paintress once more, this could be anything. Fortunately, what you need is fairly easy to identify when you actually obtain it.

The location of this “Light” is relatively close to where you meet Jar. After talking to the hammer-wielding Nevron, continue with the story into the next area where you will witness a flare going up. This area is where you will need to look for what Jar is in need of. There are a handful of monsters to dispose of, but more importantly, your goal is to get to the next Expedition flag. This is located at the back of the area next to some boxes and a slope going up.

Instead of going up the slope, look at the boxes and barrels, and you might notice a little glowing spot behind them. Simply use your attack command (which you use to initiate a First Strike battle with an enemy in the field) and this will destroy the boxes and reveal an item on the ground. This item isResin, something that could very well start a little fire, or light in this case, for our big friend. Why Lune doesn’t just cast her fire abilities is beyond us.

Head back to Jar and hand over theResin. He will then need a little spark to get it kicked off. Go into your aim mode and shoot the top of Jar’s club to make it glow a white light. Unfortunately, this doesn’t last long, but still, it allowed Jar to get a little bit of joy in his life. In the end, he will give you a Healing Tint Shard, something that’s very important going forward.
