As reported byPEOPLE, the late actorLance Reddickwas recently shown in a pre-taped interview forThe Kelly Clarkson Show. On the show, that late star appeared with hisJohn Wickcostars Keanu Reeves and Ian McShane. During the chat, Reddick praised his costars and spoke about his close bond with the other actors.Reddick passed away last week at the age of 60, shortly before the release ofJohn Wick: Chapter 4.
Reddick told Kelly Clarkson, “Family’s such a huge theme in this particular film, more than any others [in the series] — literal family. But also, you see, with the three of us, that it’s not just the family you’re born into, but the family you’ve created, and how much we really are family.”
McShane also noted that Reddick and Reaves have worked on all four films in theJohn Wickseries and stated, “So there’s a deep understanding of each other.”

Lance Reddick Was Involved in a John Wick Spinoff Called Ballerina
InJohn Wick, Reddick played Charon, a supporting character in the action-thriller franchise. Reddick had also been involved in a spinoff movie calledBallerina.
The star’s passing was confirmed by his reps last week after the actor’s body was discovered in his Studio City, Los Angeles home. A statement given to PEOPLE said, “Acclaimed actor Lance Reddick passed away suddenly this morning from natural causes,” the statement read, in part. “He is survived by his wife Stephanie Reddick and children Yvonne Nicole Reddick and Christopher Reddick. Lance will be greatly missed. Please respect his family’s privacy at this time.”
Later a joint statement provided to PEOPLE after the actor’s passing stated that Reeves and John Wick director Chad Stahelski were “deeply saddened” by theFringestar’s passing and that the fourthJohn Wickfilm will be dedicated to Reddick.
The statement said, “We are deeply saddened and heartbroken at the loss of our beloved friend and colleague Lance Reddick. He was the consummate professional and a joy to work with. Our love and prayers are with his wife Stephanie, his children, family and friends. We dedicate the film to his loving memory. We will miss him dearly.”
Lionsgate (the studio behind the action franchise) also gave PEOPLE a statement. It said, “The world of Wick would not be what it is without Lance Reddick and the unparalleled depth he brought to Charon’s humanity and unflappable charisma. Lance leaves behind an indelible legacy and hugely impressive body of work, but we will remember him as our lovely, joyful friend and Concierge. We’re stunned and heartbroken, and our deepest condolences go to his beloved family and his fans all around the world.”
In addition to appearing in the John Wick franchise,Reddick was also known for playing Cedric Daniels onThe Wire. Reddick had also worked on series likeResident Evil,Bosch,Lost, andOz. Reddick also appeared as various characters in theLaw & Orderworld.
