Lost Ark is getting its July Content Update today. The team at Amazon Games and Smilegate have announced a few systems to help players reach the endgame faster.
Lost Ark July Update Introduces Multiple Catch-Up Mechanics for New Players and Alt Characters
The most engaging activities in Lost Ark are definitely its endgame content. Pieces such as advancedGuardian Raids,Abyssal Dungeons, the Argos raid, and even Legion Commander RaidsValtanandVykasall contribute to an endgame that is both challenging and satisfying to complete. And not to mention rewarding.
However, to be able to reach the endgame requires a hefty time (or money) investment. Players will have to grind through dozens of hours to even be able to attempt the penultimate content. This is mostly in part due to the game’s Honing System, which is prevalent in a lot of Asian MMOs.

Amazon and Smilegate have heard players' cries in order to make the journey into the coveted Tier 3 endgame much easier. Let’s see what they’ll bring to the table in Lost Ark’s July Content Update. We’ve already talked at length about the other additions, theArcanist Advanced ClassandValtan Inferno Difficulty, so we’ll focus on catchup mechanics and store updates today.
New Lost Ark Progression Events
We’ve mentioned that coming in Lost Ark’s July Content Patch is the Punika Powerpass and a new Hyper Express Event. Now though, we get more details on how to unlock and maximize these features.
Punika’s Powerful Powerpass
The Punika Powerpass will instantly jump any character’s item level to 1302, at the very beginning of Tier 3. Any character below this item level can be bumped up with the Punika Powerpass; even freshly created toons. Essentially players will be able to skip the majority of the leveling process, and all the story content prior to Punika.
Our only caveat to obtaining a Punika Pass is that the players must have already completed Punika’s main quest and the roster quest “Berver’s Friend”. The powerpass will also only last until September 28, which is the assumed time that the nextadvanced class will be introduced.

If one Powerpass wasn’t enough, Lost Ark will also be selling these passes in the store. Prices start at 1100 Royal Crystals for a basic pass and can cost as much as 5500 for a Punika Pass
Hyper Express Train
The other system is the reintroduction of the Hyper Express Event. Instead of targeting Tier 1 characters, this Express Event will focus on characters between item levels 1302 and 1370 - perfect for those newly leveled up with the Punika Pass.
Players will designate one hero in their roaster to be the beneficiary of this Hyper Express Event. That character will need to complete specific missions to earn a large amount of honing materials so they can accelerate their journey to item level 1370. Major rewards will be given out at every 10 item levels, so 1310, 1320, 1330, and so on.

The Mokoko Challenge
An MMO is usuallymost popular around the first few weeksto months of its release, and Lost Ark is no exception. Players usually try a game and then move on, aside from a dedicated few. In order to attract new players, or encourage old ones to return, is the addition of the Mokoko Challenge.
The Mokoko Challenge will be exclusive to players who either: have a new account or haven’t played in the last month and have no characters at item level 1370. This Mokoko challenge, just like the Hyper Express Pass, will award players with a large amount of honing materials whenever they complete certain missions.

Players will also be granted a Mokoko Buff that will increase players’ damage to monsters by 20% while also reducing monster damage taken by 40%. This is huge and will encourage players to breeze through older content.
All of the Mokoko Challenge’s features will expire after 90 days of logging in, or if a character reaches item level 1370.

Global Honing Buffs
Last, but not least, is a new global buff to honing rates all across the board. In a surprising turn of events, Smilegate and Amazon Game Studios are introducing the much-awaited increase to honing chances much earlier in the West compared to other regions.
This will make it so that all honing attempts in Tier 1 and Tier 2 will always succeed. Additionally, players’ hones will cause 2 level-ups instead of 1 between gear levels 1 through 11. Tier 3 hasn’t been forgotten about either, as they also get a substantial +20% chance in honing attempts. It will also cost much fewer resources to perform a hone.
Players should be very happy with these changes as it will make leveling up new characters extremely easier compared to how it was a couple of months ago. More characters will be able to start clearing endgame content.
Lost Ark Summer Fun!
In other news, Summer is rearing up for a good time this July. We got a full trailer to entice players to participate in the Water Pop Arena, which looks like just a jolly good chaotic time.
Players will work as teams in order to blast away opponents with oversized water guns. As the game progresses, the platform that players stand on will shrink, akin to Fall Guys. This should be some exciting poolside action for Lost Ark.
To look the part, Lost Ark is going to be selling some new Summer-themed Cosmetic sets. These will be the Midsummer Night’s Dream set, and the Lover and Youth Set. They will also be selling some giant crab mounts and starfish pets.
The Arcanist will also be getting a stylish Rohendel’s Dream premium skin.
