The title of My Hero Academia Chapter 424 is “Epilogue”, meaning that the main storyline is finished. The chapter reveals that the war is over as Deku defeatedAll For One and Shigaraki, while also confirming that both villains are dead. After the war ended, Pro Heroes from other countries, like Salaam and Big Red Dot, come to help rebuild Japan.
As for our heroes, many are in the hospital after receiving terrible injuries. Bakugo, in particular, is in a very bad condition as his doctor explains that his arm will never go back to normal. After multiple surgeries, the arm has still managed to keep its shape but it’s not suitable for hero work anymore.

The doctor advises Bakugo to use robotic arm like Mirko if he wants to continue being a hero since even rehab may not be able to heal it. Bakugo refuses since hisQuirkcomes from his sweat and he can’t use it if uses a robotic arm.
Elsewhere, both Deku andAll Mightare also in terrible shape, but thankfully, they’re sharing the same hospital room. They talk about Shigaraki’s dead, with Deku lamenting that he couldn’t save Tenko’s life (he calls Shigaraki Tenko), and that Shigaraki continued to choose being the leader of the League of Villains until the very end.
However, All Might reassures him, reminding him that if he didn’t see the little boy crying at the end, then he really saved Tenko from his hatred. This chapter also sheds light onDeku’s biggest changeas he’s revealed to no longer have One For All, but he still has its embers left inside him. Suddenly Bakugo barges into their room.
Bakugo gives an emotional speech about how he regrets his actions during their childhood and how he wants to keep competing with Deku till the end. All Might tells the boys that they’ve gotten stronger. He tells Deku that he’s been All Might’s greatest hero from the moment he ran to save Bakugo and now the whole world knows him as such too. The former no. 1 hero also thanks Bakugo for saving his life.
Then there are panels of Shoto facing away and Ochako’s pensive face before My Hero Academia Chapter 424 ends with Deku, Iida, and Kaminari going back to school as U.A. is being rebuild.
