Update: DC Studios has unveiled a short teaser in anticipation of the official trailer for James Gunn’sSuperman, which is set to release online this Wednesday. The brief footage shown today features David Corenswet’s Superman in action, fighting someone who seems like the super-powered Hammer of Boravia. ‘Peacemaker’ Auditions for DCU’s Version of Justice League in Long-Awaited Season 2 Trailer
The first full trailer for ‘Peacemaker’ Season 2 is finally here, as James Gunn brings the anti-hero into the new DCU.
Gunn recently confirmed thattheSupermanteaserreleased in December 2024 was not the film’s official trailer. DC Studios will unveil it for the first time this Wednesday, presumably during their usual 12 p.m. ET release window. If not, then perhaps the studio is waiting to release it during an NBA playoff game. The Boston Celtics and New York Knicks will be playing at 7 p.m. ET, which would be the most likely landing spot for the trailer. Since DC Studios has been collaborating with Celtics star Jayson Tatum onSuperman-themed commercials, it seems they might be timing the release of the preview during the upcoming NBA game, which will be among the most watched match-ups this week.

‘Superman’ Has an Unexpected Take on Classic Romance
Before fans get to see more ofSupermanthis week, James Gunn and David Corenswet recently took the time totease the film’s central romancebetween Clark Kent and Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan). Inspired by the classic 1940 romantic comedyHis Girl Friday, the upcoming DCU film will take the Clark-Lois relationship to another level compared to previous adaptations. “The rhythm, the patter, and the feeling of two people in love who really are an equal match for the other,” Corenswet stated. Meanwhile, Gunn teased that the three-month-long relationship may not be picture-perfect because of Lois potentially questioning their future together.
“[It’s] a personal journey for Superman that’s entirely new. He’s in love with her. She’s the one that needs the convincing in the relationship. It’s not him. You really see where he needs her in his life.”

This coincides with what Brosnahanpreviously confirmedabout Lois and Clark’s romance. Even after three months together,Supermanwill tackle how the dynamic duo have “opposite worldviews,” which leads to them asking questions about the seriousness of this relationship.
“They’ve been together for about three months, and they’re asking some questions about the future of their relationship. They’re not sure if this is something that was just a really great fling or something that could be forever, and they have really opposite worldviews — and they bump up against each other that way. So, it was a really fun way into a familiar story.”
