The announcement was made during today’sNintendo Direct, a digital event focused on the Nintendo Switch, where the company provided an in-depth look at the new console’s features. These include amouse-like control systemand aC-button function for chats, two innovations that have fueled plenty of speculation in recent months.

Nintendo Switch 2 Bundles and Pricing

The Nintendo Switch 2will be available in two different bundles:

Pre-orders will open onApril 8th, and demand is expected to be high. Right now, MyNintendoStore already has awaiting queue. To combat scalpers, Nintendo has introduced aninvitation-based system, giving priority to users with aNintendo Account, Switch Online membership, and accumulated playtimeon their console.

Technical Upgrades and Pricing Speculation

The Nintendo Switch 2 will feature256GB of internal storage,eight timesthe capacity of the original Switch. It will also support1440p and 4K resolutionsin docked mode (on compatible games), while handheld mode will run at1080p.

Many rumors suggested the console would be priced between$399 and $429, but the final price ended up being closer to$450, placing it in the same price range as thePS5. However, this aligns with what many analysts had predicted for months.

Nintendo also used theSwitch 2 eventto showcasethe first gamescoming to the console, including anew Donkey Kongtitle.
