PlayStation is compensating users with five extra subscription days due to the PSN outage that occurred in February 2025.

PlayStation Extends PS Plus Memberships

The PSN outage in February 2025 prevented access to all Sony PlayStation services for over 24 hours, affecting online gameplay on PS4 and PS5, as well as purchases on the PlayStation Store.

The timing couldn’t have been worse, as it coincided with the launch of the second open beta for Monster Hunter Wilds. Fortunately, Capcom responded by rescheduling the beta.

PlayStation Begins 5 Day Compensation for PSN Outage

Sony addressed the issue with a statement:

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate the community’s patience. All PlayStation Plus members will automatically receive five additional days of service.

Many users criticized Sony’s response, calling the compensation insufficient and expressing frustration over the lack of transparency.

How to Check Your Extended Subscription

The extra time is added automatically, meaning no action is required from users. If the extension hasn’t appeared yet, Sony advises waiting patiently, as the process is ongoing and may not apply to everyone at the same time.

Users have noticed that their expiration date has been extended by five days. To verify this, follow these steps:

It remains unclear whether all users feel this is a fair compensation for the disruption, which took place during the second weekend of February.

For now, this appears to be the final resolution, and nothing more is expected to change. Hopefully, similar issues won’t occur in the future.
