While it may not be the first thought to cross everyone’s mind, some often find themselves wondering how much money these heroes have. As such, here’s a look at the richest superheroes in movie history.

15Steve Rogers / Captain America

It’s weird to see Steve Rogers akaCaptain Americaon this list, right? Wrong. You see, Steve Rogers really had the rank of Captain by the time he got frozen saving the world during World War II. It turns out Reddit took notice of this little fact, and asked if Cap was eligible for back pay after turning up alive 70 years later.Army spokesperson Wayne Hallobliged with an answer by crunching a few numbers.

The Benefits of an Army Pension

It turns out that for Army pension beneficiaries, there is a biannual increase in pay for every year of service which is adjusted for inflation. As soon as Steve Rogers was defrosted,he went back again to active duty, receiving a hefty sum of $7 million, and while Steve is not one to flaunt his wealth, it’s safe to say he’s set for life given the austerity in which he lives.

14Dr. Stephen Strange / Doctor Strange

Everybody knows how much bank there is to make in the medical industry, especially if you are eminent in a specialized field. When we meetDr. Stephen Strange, he’s a highly skilled and renowned neurosurgeon who is highly sought-after for his skills while catering to wealthy patients, which allows him to earn a substantial income.

Neurosurgery and Mysticism

Until the fated accident that destroyed his hands,Stephen’s expertise and reputation in the medical fieldgave him access to a lavish lifestyle and unlimited access to the best high-end medical equipment. While the film states he spends most of his resources trying to mend his damaged hands, it also implies that following his journey into the mystical arts, he’s still well off to have to worry about earning a living.

Doctor Strange

13Roberto Da Costa / Sunspot

Roberto Da Costa is also known as the mutant Sunspot. He was briefly shown inX-Men: Days of the Future Past, but we really got intimate with him inThe New Mutants. Robert is the only child of the Da Costa family, the most powerful industrialist family in Brazil. While in the Foxverse, he’s neglected by his family, who send him to be cured in the Essex facility;Roberto is the sole inheritor of the Da Costa family empire.

20 Weirdest Superhero Movies of All Time

One of the most successful film genres of all time, is not without its black sheep. These are the weirdest superhero films of all time.

A Superhero in the Lap of Luxury

His business acumen allowed him to become a mogul in the energy industry, which he specialized in, thanks to the nature of his mutant powers. Beyond the events of the film, Roberto enjoys luxuries and privileges. While in the film, he’s a pariah to his family, in the comics, he’s fully supported by his father, who helps him fund X-Force’s operations for a long time after the team cuts ties with Cable.

The New Mutants

12Lamont Cranston / The Shadow

Very little is known about Lamont Cranston, the secret identity of the superheroThe Shadow, but he was already very wealthy before becoming a masked vigilante. As a playboy and philanthropist, he traveled the world seeking knowledge and looking for excitement. His vain superficiality was impacted after meeting the Keepers of the Temple of Cobras. The monks taught him the art of hypnotism and deception.

A Reformed Hero

Lamont firstuses his newfound abilities to gain more wealth and power, eventually becoming a warlord named Yin-Ko, who is captured by agents of the mysterious holy man Tulku to be reformed. Once he learns the error of his ways, he uses his immense wealth and power to become an agent of good in New York City, where Shiwan Khan, a descendant of Genghis Khan, plans to destroy the city with a nuclear bomb.

11Britt Reid / The Green Hornet

Britt Reid akaThe Green Hornetis the heir to the Reid family fortune. His father owned a successful newspaper and, in many incarnations, he is the descendant of The Lone Ranger, who himself had a secret silver mine. Like Batman and Iron Man, Reid is a rich man with no superpowers who uses his vast wealth to invest in high-tech gadgets. While Reid is rich, he certainly does not have the wealth and resources of characters like Iron Man and Batman, and his adventures tend to be lower in scale than other rich superheroes.

Modest Wealth in Comparison

There is an argument to be made that the main source of his wealth, his newspaper, is struggling in today’s climate, but there is still no doubt that Green Hornet is better off than many others. The Invisible MandirectorLeigh Whannel is set to directa newGreen Hornetmovie for Universal, which may address these questions.

The Green Hornet

Kingo is a member of theEternals, and since he has been around for 5,000 years, he certainly has had plenty of time to invest. Kingo has been posing as his own descendants for over 100 years and has marketed himself as one of the greatest family dynasties in Indian cinema. Kingo has his own private plane and all the wealth associated with being a movie star.

A Crime-Fighting Movie Star

While he may not be the richest superhero, among his fellow Eternals he certainly is the most wealthy and has more money than heroes like Shang-Chi, Moon Knight, or the Hulk for sure.

9Emma Frost / The White Queen

This may come as a surprise to some, but Emma Frost is exceedingly wealthy. Unlike Professor X, Frost earned her wealth by using her powers on men at the Hellfire Club to trick them into paying her more. On top of this, Emma Frost earns even more money now as the CEO of Frost International. Frost has come a long way from at one time being homeless and an exotic dancer to now being one of the few billionaires in Marvel.

A Prominent Member of the Hellfire Club

This supervillain turned X-Men ally has used her wealth to aid in the funding of the X-Men alongside Professor X. Though Emma Frost has only been seen inX-Men: First Class(so far), it was abundantly clear that she was indeed very wealthy and well-connected due to her involvement in the Hellfire Club. The extent of her wealth was never disclosed, but it is safe to say she is one of many rich mutants in the Fox X-Men franchise.

X-Men: First Class

8Warren Worthington III / Angel

X-Men: The Last Standmight have been one of the lesser films from the franchise, but Ben Foster’s powerful turn as Warren Worthington III — AKA “Angel” — is reason enough alone to see this superhero flick. And, of course, Ben Hardy portrayed a younger version of the fan-favorite in 2016’sX-Men: Apocalypse. A founding member of the X-Men in the original comics, Worthington originally possessed a pair of large feathered wings extending from his back, enabling him to fly.

The Strongest X-Men Characters in the Franchise’s Movie History

The recent trailer for Doctor Strange 2 seems to have brought Professor X, and thus the X-Men, into the MCU fold. Here are the strongest mutants.

Heir to the Worthington Fortune

He is the heir of the Worthington family fortune, and this privileged background results in Warren being stereotyped as self-absorbed and unable to deal with hardships during his early years with the X-Men. It’s fun, then, to see his character evolve as the comics progressed, especially in the 1980s when he took on a more intense, humanistic persona despite his outrageous wealth. In some incarnations, Angel helps fund the X-Men or various other superhero groups. In the film continuity, his father owns a large pharmaceutical company, so the character is quite rich.

X-Men: The Last Stand

7Charles Francis Xavier / Professor X

Not only is Professor X one of the mostpowerful members of the X-Menand their designated leader, but he is also an extremely wealthy man. Like Bruce Wayne, Professor X’s wealth was mostly inherited from his stepfather. Professor X is responsible for funding the exploits of the X-Men as well as funding his school, Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters. This includes everything from housing young mutants who are students of the school to paying for the expensive gadgets and machinery used by the X-Men to aid them in their missions.

The Financial Backing Behind the X-Men

While he is the main financial backer of the X-Men, he is not the sole contributor, with some funds coming from Magneto and Emma Frost. Interestingly, none of theX-Menmovies dive deeply into just how wealthy Professor X is, yetX-Men: First Classdoes feature a cutting comment from Magneto contrasting the life of privilege Xavier had as opposed to Erik’s tragic holocaust childhood.

6Adrian Veidt / Ozymandias

Adrian Veidt is the superhero widely known as Ozymandias in theWatchmenuniverse, depicted by Matthew Goode inZack Snyder’sWatchmen. The single heir of the Veidt fortune, Adrian, gave away all his money to build his empire back on his own. A perpetual admirer of the feats of Alexander the Great, Adrian is a practical man who knows pretty well the meaning of risk and venture capital in the business world. As a self-made billionaire, he’s the private owner of Veidt Industries and holds the rights and patents to multiple products used in everyday life in his world.

A Hero Turned Into a Brand

As we met him in 1986, his net worth back in the day was $7 billion, which, adjusted for inflation, would place him right next to Elon Musk these days. Unlike Tony Stark or Bruce Wayne, Adrian never loses sight of a good business opportunity, and he has his hand in multiple industries and his own personal brand as a hero, which spans toys, video games, and any form of paraphernalia you can imagine.
