One of the rarest items you may find inStardew Valleyis one of four Dwarf Scrolls, a collection of texts that can help open up trade with every Dwarvish character within the game. It takes an incredible amount of luck to obtain all four Scrolls, even if you know where to look. While it may take some time to earn these items, they are worth the effort.
While Dwarf Scrolls are not therarest items inStardew Valley, they are among the hardest Artifacts you can find while exploring. Artifacts are classified as items you can donate to the Museum or sell to local vendors for some Gold. As of the 1.6 update of the game, there are more uses for Dwarf Scrolls than before,so ensure to keep any Scrolls found during your travels.

Stardew Valley: 15 Best Items To Sell & Make Money
Stardew Valley players can produce lots of profitable items on their farms. Among the best items to make and sell are rare crops and Artisan Goods.
Where To Find Every Dwarf Scroll
Search The Mines For Each Artifact
All four Dwarf Scrollscan be found within The Mines, an area where you fight various monster enemies and gather other materials for your farm. Each of the Scrolls is a different color signifying which one it is, from Dwarf Scroll I to Dwarf Scroll IV. you’re able to either get a Dwarf Scrollas a drop from defeating an enemyorfrom Tilling in specific floorsthroughout The Mines as you dig deeper and deeper.
The Mines can be found north of the Mountains, butyou can also find Dwarf Scrolls within Skull Cavern. This area is notoriously difficult to travel in, so be prepared before you venture to this place, which is located north of the Calico Desert.

While Tilling is a process where you use your starting Hoe tool to prepare soil for farming, this action also helps you dig up Artifacts by disturbing the sand within The Mines. As you learn different mechanics during yourfirst year inStardew Valley, you will become extremely familiar with Tilling over time. Combat should also become easier as you keep venturing into The Mines and encountering different creatures.
Once you have every tool you need to explore The Mines or Skull Cavern, you can find the Dwarf Scrolls from these drop chances:

Anyone who tries to till the sands past floor 80 can find Dwarf Scroll IV, but only if they don’t get it from an enemy drop first.
How To Use All The Dwarf Scrolls
Donate Every Artifact To The Museum
Every Dwarf Scroll you find can be sold for 1 Gold, making them far less profitable than other Artifacts or items likeLegendary fish inStardew Valley. You’ll want todonate every Dwarf Scroll you find to the Museum, which will reward you with a special item. As you can see in the above video by YouTube creatorBeck Sharp, youreceive the Dwarvish Translation Guidefor giving away every Scroll.
Multiple dwarf characters exist in the world ofStardew Valley, with one inside The Mines and another within the Volcano Dungeon, a place you can explore at the northern end of Ginger Island. With the special Translation Guide, youcan talk to each of these NPCsas you encounter them. This gives you a chance tolearn about the dwarvish characters and trade with themfor a variety of new items.
With the1.6 update forStardew Valleyincreasing the number of monsters you encounter, you may find all the Scrolls you need faster than before. This might make the process of getting the Translation Guide faster, giving you more opportunities to trade with Dwarves throughout earlier years on your farm. Some of the best items the Dwarves sell are Life Elixirs, a Dwarvish Saftey Manual, a Rarecrow, and the Weathered Floor recipe.
The Dwarvish Safety Manual costs 4,000 Gold, but acts as an upgrade for your character, similar to the Translation Guide, that makes you take 25% less damage from bombs.
Other Uses For Additional Dwarf Scrolls
Solve Mysteries And Improve Friendships
Additional Dwarf Scrolls that you find through the same means as before can be used for other tasks once you obtain the Dwarvish Translation Guide. You can use the Guide totranslate the Dwarvish Headstonein the Graveyard, which says,“Stand between the pillars three with a gift as precious as the sky: A rainbow forged from land, not sea then galaxies will heed your cry.”
In the desert, you can find the three pillars mentioned in the riddle on the right corner of your map.You need to bring a Prismatic Shard and stand in the center space between the pillarsto solve the puzzle andobtain the Galaxy Sword, one of the strongest weapons inStardew Valley. Prismatic Shards are found from Treasure Chests or dropped from mining and enemies similar to the Dwarf Scrolls.
The Galaxy Sword is a Level 13 Sword that deals around 60-80 damage, with a Critical Strike Chance of .02 and a +4 to the Speed of your attacks.
Dwarf Scrolls can begifted to certain characters to raise their friendship, especially with those interested in these Artifacts like the Dwarves or Penny. Certain Scrolls can also provide benefits to a Fish Pond, with the Dwarf Scroll III increasing a Lava Eel’s capacity from three to five. Giving the Dwarf Scroll I or II to a Ghostfish can expand a Fish Pond’s capacity from 7 to 10 if you have an Artifact left over to use.
Finally, combining all the Scrolls in a Sewing Machinewill create a Gold Trimmed Shirt, a rare cosmetic to equip onto your character to change their appearance. Once you know how to find every Dwarf Scroll inStardew Valley, you’ll be able to try and farm every one multiple times for the benefits they provide beyond the Dwarvish Translation Guide.
