Bethesda are about to launch their biggest update for Starfield into Steam Beta with over 100 fixes and improvements in the next few days.

Starfield to Get Biggest Update on Steam Beta January 17th

Bethesda has announced that the most substantial update to Starfield to date is set to launch on Wednesday, January 17. This update will bring more than 100 fixes and improvements including a series of graphical adjustments for the space RPG.

The upcoming patch was revealed in a recent tweet following Bethesda’s 2023 year-end review that pledged a host of upgrades for 2024. The update will initially be available on Steam beta on January 17th 2024, with a comprehensive rollout to all players anticipated two weeks later, provided everything goes as planned.

Big Update into Steam Beta

In a thread on X (Twitter) Bethesda revealed “some of what you can expect” for the major update. The 100 fixes and improvements will include “a multitude of fixes to quests”. Bethesda has stated that issues related to “Eye of the Storm”, such as the inability to dock with the Legacy, data transfer not initiating, and Temples not appearing in “Into the Unknown”, will no longer hinder Constellation’s cosmic exploration.

The behemoth of an update also confirms “stability improvements and numerous graphic improvements,” which should pay attention to the areas of the game that require some love. Particularly the developer showed the before and after looks forNPCsthat are getting some improvements when it comes to textures, lighting and shadows.

But NPCs aren’t the only ones getting some attention.Planetswill also see some tune-ups with “sun disk geometry” and “planet ring shadows” making the galaxy look even more stunning than before.
