We are a little less than a month away from the premiere episode ofSupergirlseason 2, which will be airing on The CW instead of CBS this year. Fortunately a new batch of photos from the first two episodes ofSupergirlseason 2 have surfaced online to help tide us over untilKara Zor-Elreturns next month. They also show us a whole bunch of Kara’s much more famous cousin Superman, who will be joining her this season.
The photos surfaced courtesy of TV Line and they give us a really great look at the first couple of episodes what will air on The CW. The first episode, which we now know will be titled “The Adventures of Supergirl,” seems like it will be introducing us toClark Kent, as opposed to the costumed version of the Man of Steel. The second episode will be titled “The Last Children of Krypton” and will most definitely be very heavy on both Superman and Supergirl in all of their superhero glory.

There is quite a bit going on in the photos, but from what we can tell the first episode seems as though it will focus on Clark Kent’s introduction into the human world ofSupergirl. The photos also give us a good look at Lana Luthor, who is being played byKatie McGrath. Every single picture from “The Adventures of Supergirl” are in The Tribune offices and also give us good looks atMehcad Brooks, who is returning as James Olson andCalista Flockhart, who is reprising her role as Cat Grant. The photos from “The Last Children of Krypton” are much more action packed, showcasing a whole lot ofTyler Hoechlinas Superman. One of the images also featuresMelissa Benoistas Supergirl stopping a car head-on, which is pretty cool, as well as a whole bunch of shots of Kara and Kal looking very serious in costume together.
The CW also released a new promo to go along with the new photos. While the promo doesn’t tell us much about season 2 ofSupergirl, it does feature a pretty action packed, slow motion shot ofMelissa Benoistflying away and breaking a whole bunch of pavement in the process. The promo does feature a good look at the newly designedSupergirllogo as well, which appears at the end of the footage.

Last yearSupergirldebuted on CBS and even though the series was well liked by many, it didn’t quite do the big numbers that the network needed to justify keeping it on the air. Luckily The CW stepped in to save the show.Supergirlwill be right at home with her fellow DC Comics heroes on The CW for season 2 asThe Flash,ArrowandLegends of Tomorrowhave all been doing very well for the network and now Monday through Thursday will be filled with comic book goodness. Plus now that all of the shows are on the same network it will allow for more crossover, including the highly-anticipated musical crossover episode betweenSupergirlandThe Flash.
As of right now,Supermanis only set to appear in a couple of episodes this season, but ifHoechlin’s version of the character is received well, surely we will be seeing more of him in the future.Supergirl season 2is set to debut on Monday, October 10 on The CW.
