CDPR’s History With Nintendo
CDPR is staying silent, saying they’re currently “fully focused on Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition” for the new console.
“Our relationship with Nintendo goes back to the original Nintendo Switch, where we launched The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt,” said Filip Downar, gameplay technical design expert at the studio, in an interview with Eurogamer.

“We were very happy with how the game was received by players, so when we heard about the more powerful Nintendo Switch 2, we immediately thought it would be the perfect platform for Cyberpunk 2077.”
Downar added that the studio is “thrilled” to be working with Nintendo again: “It’s incredibly exciting to be a launch title for this new hardware.
With all the unique features of the Nintendo Switch 2—like motion controls, the gyroscope, mouse sensor, and more—we can’t wait to see how the community explores the game in different ways.”
He confirmed the team has been “working passionately to make it all happen—over seven weeks, just to be clear!
The confusion came because the version we showed was finished seven weeks before the Nintendo presentation. Development has actually taken much longer, as we’ve been working to bringCyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Editionto the Nintendo Switch 2.”
Right now, everyone at CD Projekt is “incredibly proud and happy” to see so many players enjoying the game.“The team has done a great job with every update. And we’re excited to see a brand-new audience, along with our existing community, exploreNight Cityon the Nintendo Switch 2,” Downar concluded.
It’s clear thatThe Witcher 3could launch on the Nintendo Switch 2—the downside is that the studio already has other ongoing projects and might not want to stretch themselves too thin.
