Veteran game creator Hideo Kojima is in the news once again with another announcement regarding his 2019 video game franchiseDeath Stranding.With iconic gameplay and a vivid storyline to follow, people cannot seem to let go of the game.

Hideo Kojima has shared a picture with Sam Lake from The Game Awards 2023.

In recent news, Hideo Kojima revealed in a statement that they are working with film studio A24 to release aDeath Strandingmovie. Not only a movie, but the game designer promised that it would be a cinematic universe not just for gamers but for lovers of cinema all around the world!

A24 Studio is known for developing unique movies that have not been seen in Hollywood before. With intriguing storylines at hand and a metaphor for every scene they shoot, A24 can be dubbed as theHideo Kojimaof Hollywood.

Death Stranding

Perhaps the game designer found out about the connection between him and A24 and thus, Kojima had no choice but to tie up with the film studio. In a lengthy statement, Hideo Kojima took to hisX(formerly Twitter) and informed the world about his plans for aDeath Strandingmovie. Promising not only a movie, the director further revealed that he wishes to give the world a cinematic experience like no other!

“Now, we are making a Death Stranding movie together. There are a lot of ‘game adaptation films’ out there but what we are creating is not just a direct translation of the game. The intention is that our audience will not only be fans of the games, but our film will be for anyone who loves cinema.”

Hideo Kojima is also working with other creatives alongside Jordan Peele on OD.

He further continued,

“We are creating a Death Stranding universe that has never been seen before, achievable only through the medium of film, it will be born.”

As if this wasn’t enough, the video game designer did not stop himself from complementing A24 Studios for being unique and different. Kojima went on to reveal that there have been several moments in his career where he has been inspired by these A24 movies!

Furthering his statement, the creator ofDeath Strandingsaid that A24 Studios are like no other studios. The director further revealed that he has often been inspired by the Studio for making unique and creative insights into the world of Hollywood and gaming!

“A24 was born into this world about 10 years ago, their presence is singular within the industry, they are like no other. The films they are delivering to the world are high in quality and very innovative. I have been attracted to their creations and they have even inspired my own work. Their innovative approach to storytelling aligns with what Kojima Productions has been doing for the last 8 years.”

It has just been an announcement until now and no details of the plot have been revealed yet. As per the reports,Death Strandingis currently in pre-production and it would be 2 or 3 years before it is released. Fans are, however, excited to see the return of Sam Porter Bridges.
