Some of my favoritejailbreak tweaksof all time have been those that transform my iPhone’sweatherreporting experience, and that’s one reason why I’m especially stoked to be sharing the news about a new free release dubbedWeatherGroundby iOS developerTr1Fecta.

In a nutshell, WeatherGround brings surreal weather-centric animations to the wallpaper of yourHome screenand/orLock screen. What’s more is that the effects can be displayed exactly how they’d appear in your iPhone’s native Weather app, or you can have the effects superimposed over your existing wallpaper image.

As depicted in the screenshots above, you’ll see what the wallpaper looks like when it’s replaced entirely with a Weather app-esque animated image. Alternatively, in instances where you use your own image and superimpose the Weather effects, you might see rain, snowflakes, or the likes over your wallpaper image.

If the flashy animated wallpapers weren’t enough for you, WeatherGorund takes things a step further by adding useful weather-centric information to theStatus Bar. you may easily invoke the weather display by tapping on the Status Bar’s time display, as shown above.

As you might come to expect, WeatherGround comes with a few options to configure. You’ll find them in the tweak’s dedicated preference pane in the Settings app after installation:

Here, you can:

The developer provides an Apply button at the top right of the preference pane to help you save any changes you make on demand.

As simple as it is, it’s a beautiful addition to anyjailbrokeniPhone. The developer recommends using with a notched handset such as the iPhone X, but it should also work with other models. On the other hand, iPads aren’t fully supported.
