It was reported earlier this week that Cheetah is going to be the main villain inWonder Woman 2and then late yesterday, it was reported that comedic actressKristen Wiigis in talks to play the role. DC fan reactions have been mixed, to put it lightly, but Wiig has done dramatic work in the past and even played the villain inZoolander 2, so there is some faith that she could pull off the main antagonist inWonder Woman 2. For those wondering what Kristen Wiig might look like as Cheetah, some new fan art delivers, and she looks pretty convincing.
While neither theCheetahcharacter nor Kristen Wiig has been confirmed by DC Films or Warner Bros., Bosslogic has taken it upon himself to draw up what Wiig could look like as Cheetah inWonder Woman 2. The art, as usual, is top notch. However, it looks like the artist could have found another picture of Wiig to work off of where she isn’t smiling. Cheetah more than likely won’t be doing a whole lot of smiling if and when we see her on the big screen.
There have been a few different versions of Cheetah over the years, but it has been reported that Patty Jenkins’Wonder Woman 2will be based off of theBarbara Ann Minervaversion that first appeared in the comics in 1987. Minerva is a British archaeologist who gets caught in the middle of an ancient ritual in Urzkartagan, which in turn transforms her into the cheetah god. Again, this has not been officially confirmed, so it’s best to take all of this information with a grain of salt.
While the fan reactions of Kristen Wiig taking on the villainous Cheetah role inWonder Woman 2have been mixed, some think that she would do an excellent job because the Barbara Ann Minerva version of the character is a little weird to begin with. It’s not clear if Cheetah will be obsessed with Wonder Woman’s golden lasso in the sequel like she was in the comics, but that could be an interesting way tointroduce the villainwhile showing off how she learns to use and harness her new-found powers. Kristen Wiig as Cheetah would definitely shake up the foundation for the DCEU.
At the very least, we know that Kristen Wiig would look pretty awesome as Cheetah inWonder Woman 2. Even if she doesn’t end up taking on the role, she’ll at least have the awesome fan art from Bosslogic to show off what could have been. Either that, or she really takes on the role and we get to see what she officially looks like soon, sinceproduction is expected to begin this summer.
