Having had so much experience working in so many films throughout his life, it must take a lot for an actor like Nicholson to storm off-set. This is why it is extremely odd to find out that the actor was one, so angered by the director he was working with, that he walked off-set completely naked to prove a point.

Jack Nicholson Loves Basketball A Little Too Much

An extremely well-known fact aboutJack Nicholsonis how much he loves basketball, more specifically The Lakers team. The love may even border obsession, as it would seem that the actor is willing to do anything for them, even have a very big fight with the director of his 1974 film,Chinatown,Roman Polanski. The assistant director of the film, Howard Koch Jr, talked toFar Out Magazine, revealing an interesting behind-the-scenes fight that took place between the actor and directors.

“Roman says, ‘Where is Jack?’ I went back to Jack and he went, ‘Howie, it’s overtime. I’m not leaving now. Just tell Roman I’ve been waiting an hour and a half. Let him wait for a few minutes.“So, Koch bravely went to relay this message. It didn’t go too well.“So Roman has a cow, and then the game goes into double overtime,“he recalled.“We’re all basketball fans, so nobody’s upset except for Roman who could give a fuck about the Lakers. ‘Where is he?’ I said, ‘Roman, it’s double overtime.’ He’s like, ‘WHAT THE FUCK IS DOUBLE OVERTIME?!’”

Koch Jr mentioned that Nicholson had waited for quite some time for the director to show up on set. When he finally did, he was extremely late and the actors adored team had started playing. Roman Polanski Had Enough Of This

While everyone on set understood why Jack Nicholson refused to move, with them also being invested in the game, the same could not have been said about Roman Polanski. The game went from overtime to double overtime, all the while the director kept asking how long it would take for the actor to show up on set. Not understanding the basketball lingo, the director got frustrated when he heard about the double over time.

“I grabbed a mop and ran inside Jack’s trailer to smash the TV,”Polanski once said.“But I didn’t have enough room and the damn thing wouldn’t break, so I grabbed the TV and tossed it out the trailer.”

So much so, that he revealed toFar Out Magazine, that he decided to pick up a mop and started to smash the television. After this did not work, he picked up the television and threw it outside the trailer. Nicholson, naturally upset at this decided that the best thing to do would be to remove all of his clothes and storm off the set, completely naked.
