Tears of the Kingdom– Where to find and farm Sunset Fireflies

The easiest way is to buy them from Beedle, but if you do not feel like doing that then you’re able to try catching them yourself around the many wooded areas of Hyrule. If you choose to catch them in person ensure you sneak up on them quietly!

When you look intohow to upgrade your armor, you’ll find you need to meet with Great Fairies. They won’t emerge from their giant flower pods unless you recruit help from musicians. One of those musicians isPyper, a flutist who hangs out nearHighland Stable. Before he will help you, though, you need to completeThe Flute Player’s Planside quest. This requires you to gatherSunset Firefliesto put on a light show.

The most reliable way to get Sunset Fireflies is to purchase them from Beedle. He charges 10 rupees for each one. However, he doesn’t sell them everywhere you might run into him.

Beedle is a traveling salesman. Insects are his area of expertise. When you encounter him on a road near any stables, or in a stable tent, he offers to sell you items from his current inventory. You can buy only a limited number of each item, and only if you have the funds.

When youmeet Beedle near the Highland Stable in the Faron region, you’ll find he only carries three Sunset Fireflies at once. After you buy them, he needs time to replenish his supply. you’re able to speed that process along if youpay 20 rupees to spend the nightat the local stable. Then find Beedle again and buy three more fireflies until you have the number you need.

If you would prefer not to pay Beedle for the fireflies, catch them yourself. You need to look for the fireflies during the evening hours (between 10pm and 4am), when it is dark and you can easily find them flitting about Hyrule’s forests. They are especially common inPagos Woodsnot far north from where you find Pyper, usually near shallow water. You may also find them in various other wooded locations.

To catch a firefly, sneak up on it as quietly as possible. Crouch and use aSneaky Elixir, if you have one.Stealthy Armorcan come in handy here, as well. I’ve caught plenty of fireflies without either enhancement in place, though, so it’s definitely doable if you’re patient and move slowly.
