Atomfallgives you a system that you can use to upgrade abilities through the Skill Point menu, but the lack of experience bars or gains can make it unclear as to how you actually get points to spend in that menu. Instead, you need to pick up a particular item that you can find throughout each region in Atomfall. Unfortunately, those items are easy to miss if you aren’t actively looking for them.
10 Best Skills in Atomfall, Ranked
The best skills to unlock to upgrade your arsenal and abilities in Atomfall.
Skill points are a currency in Atomfall that you pick up through a specific item, which then lets you use them to purchase upgrades in the Skill Point menu. Each upgrade category starts with three available options that cost an increasing amount of skill points, but you’re able to unlock additional options as you play. As an example, injecting yourself with Dr. Holder’s inoculation unlocks upgrades regarding infection resistancein your Skill Point menu without you needing to spend any points to get them.

How to Get Skill Points
To get skill points, you need to pick upTraining Stimulants. These are syringes that sit in an open case. They tend to be placed on shelves, desks, or even on the ground, which makes them easy to miss as they blend in with the environment that way. When you pick them up, they’reautomatically added to your Skill Points menu as currencyinstead of placed in your inventory, which is great since the limited space you have for items makes your inventory fill up quickly.
When you start the game, each category in your Skill Point menu has three upgrade options, with the bottom left one costing the least and the cost then increasing each time you move up. However, you don’t need to purchase the bottom options first to unlock the higher options. Instead, you can simply save your points to get a more expensive upgradethat you’d prefer to a cheaper one.

Where to Find Training Stimulants
In general, you’ll find Training Stimulants around locations that you need to enter rather than out in the wilderness. Locations likeBunker L6and the church cellar in Wyndham Village both have you entering them with a loading screen, and they both have enough Training Stimulants that it’s worth exploring them for that alone.
Since skill points are going to be the main way that you improve your combat abilities and unlock skills, such as disarming traps, you want to keep an eye out for Training Stimulants whenever you’re exploring. Additionally, don’t forget to keep an eye on your Skill Point menu so that you can purchase upgrades as early as possible to grow stronger in Atomfall.
