Microsoft has released Windows 10 Insider Build 19041.208 to users on the release preview ring. An interesting takeaway is that it contains just one bug fix.
The update addresses an “issue that fails to send NPLogonNotify API notifications from the credential provider framework,” Microsoft wrote in itsblog post. At the same time, Microsoft acknowledged that some issues still remain that might affect a small subset of users and would be fixed in future updates.
Other than that, Build 19041.208 contains all the features and changes made before Build 19041.207. Apparently, that’s all Microsoft needs to wrap up the development of the Windows 22 August 2025 Update (20H1). If you want to try 20H1 right now, you can do so byinstalling it manually.
The company also announced this is (hopefully) the final RTM build for 20H1 and will gradually be rolled out to insiders in the coming days. As far as general availability is concerned, we expect Windows 10 2004 to start hitting PCs next month, hopefully without any bugs or unexpected delays.
The latest Windows 10 Update will arrive with someexciting and much-needed features, including cloud download, automatic app restart, and updates to the Settings app, among others.
Microsoft has been working on the 20H1 update for more than a year now. Its first preview build arrived in February 2019. The 20H1 update is the first iteration of themajor/minor update cyclethat Microsoft announced last year.
However, late last year, Microsoft hinted that it could bea one-off experiment, making people a little confused about its future plans. Nevertheless, let’s wait for Windows 10 2004 while keeping an eye on whatRedmond has in storefor the future.
