With production continuing onX-Men: Apocalypsein Montreal, directorBryan Singershared two photos from the set through hisInstagrampage. The first photo gives us a new look atBen HardyasArchangel, in what the director describes as some sort of a “fight club” in Berlin. While the second photo shows three superhero outfits in mysterious display cases, which the director says, “reminds me of Area 51.” It isn’t known which superhero outfits are locked away in these cases quite yet, but it’s a nice tease.
TheBen HardyAngel photo is reminiscent ofconcept artthat debuted back in late March, which showed a large arena where combatants square off inside a massive cage. It is believed that this is where the villainousApocalypse(Oscar Isaac) finds Archangel and recruits him to be one of theFour Horsemen. The other Horsemen includeOlivia Munn’sPsylocke,Alexandra Shipp’sStormandMichael Fassbender’s Magneto}, who has been living a life of exile in Poland for the past 10 years, following the events ofX-Men: Days of Future Past.
X-Men: Apocalypsefollows Professor Xavier (James McAvoy) and Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) as they form a new team of mutants to stop Apocalypse’s destructive plan. These mutants includeLana Condor(Jubilee),Sophie Turner(Jean Grey),Tye Sheridan(Cyclops) andKodi Smit-McPhee(Nightcrawler). Reprising their roles fromX-Men: First ClassandX-Men: Days of Future PastareRose Byrneas Moira McTaggert,Nicholas Houltas Beast,Lucas Tillas Havok andEvan Petersas Quicksilver.
Bryan Singerdirects from a script bySimon Kinberg, based on a treatment he worked on withDan HarrisandMichael Dougherty. Production has been under way in Montreal since April, but it isn’t known how much filming is left on the superhero movie. 20th Century Fox has already set a Jun 18, 2025 release date, putting it up against Disney’s sequelAlice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass.
